About Clawson, MI

Clawson is a city in Oakland County in the U.S. state of Michigan. It is part of the Detroit metropolitan area. At the 2010 census, its population was 11,825. == History == This area was occupied by the historic Potowatomi people, who were among the indigenous peoples in the Detroit territory. They traded furs for goods for years with the French Canadians and English colonists. The city's name is a misspelling of the surname of John Lawson, an early European-American settler. It was founded by European Americans in 1829 and was originally known as Pumachug and The Corners. The name was inspired by the sound made by the Cider Mill and Saw Mill on each corner of the main intersection. The sound was described as "pum-a-chug, pum-a-chug." The city was incorporated as Clawson in 1921 as a village; in 1940 it was incorporated as a city. == Geography == According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 2.20 square miles (5.70 km2), all land.

After reading all of the other positive reviews about Clawson Jewelers, my now fiancé and I decided to stop in to check out engagement rings. We were immediately greeted warmly by Niki and Joe, the owner. My first impression of the store was that is was beautifully updated, smelled nice, clean, and inviting. Joe and Niki helped my fiancé and I a lot and answered any questions we had. They were also not pushy, which we appreciated. We were able to negotiate a fair trade for a family diamond we had for a new diamond. Overall, I could not have been happier with the ring-buying process at Clawson Jewelers. Now for the best part. I didn’t get to see my ring until my fiancé proposed. When I finally saw it, I was truly blown away. They did such an amazing job; the ring was beyond my wildest dreams! I’ve been back since the engagement, and they continue to treat me like a VIP. I could not recommend Clawson Jewelers enough. They are all very knowledgeable and passionate about their craft.

Dani, Andrew, and Joe were all wonderful and extremely helpful in guiding me through the experience of picking out the perfect ring for my fiance. If my fiancée and I could give them 6 out of 5 stars we would! Niki and Joe were there to help with the whole process of looking at rings, helping me purchase the ring within my budget and making pick up super convenient and easy. Some of their suggestions helped make the engagement ring one of a kind. Then when one of the gems popped out of the band, they were right on top of contacting the manufacturer and getting the ring repaired. Just an overall great experience! Would highly recommend!
