About Royal Oak, MI

Royal Oak is a city in Oakland County in the U.S. state of Michigan. As of the 2010 census, the city had a population of 57,236.The city is located along the Woodward Corridor, and Interstate 75 and Interstate 696 also pass through Royal Oak. As a northern suburb of Metro Detroit, the city is about 3 miles (4.8 km) north of the city of Detroit. Portions of the Detroit Zoo are within Royal Oak, extending into neighboring Huntington Woods. == History == Early Europeans in this area near Fort Detroit in the 18th century were mostly French. Some traded with the Sauk, Huron, and other Native Americans in the area. After defeating France in the French and Indian War/Seven Years' War, Great Britain obtained New France, including Fort Detroit and environs. Initially part of British Indian Territory, the area became part of the reorganised Province of Quebec in 1774. After the American Revolutionary War, Michigan was transferred to the United States in three phases: 1796, Lower Peninsula; 1818, Upper Peninsula; 1827, Drummond Island. Royal Oak was named in 1819, during one of the surveying expeditions led by Territorial Governor Lewis Cass.

After reading all of the other positive reviews about Clawson Jewelers, my now fiancé and I decided to stop in to check out engagement rings. We were immediately greeted warmly by Niki and Joe, the owner. My first impression of the store was that is was beautifully updated, smelled nice, clean, and inviting. Joe and Niki helped my fiancé and I a lot and answered any questions we had. They were also not pushy, which we appreciated. We were able to negotiate a fair trade for a family diamond we had for a new diamond. Overall, I could not have been happier with the ring-buying process at Clawson Jewelers. Now for the best part. I didn’t get to see my ring until my fiancé proposed. When I finally saw it, I was truly blown away. They did such an amazing job; the ring was beyond my wildest dreams! I’ve been back since the engagement, and they continue to treat me like a VIP. I could not recommend Clawson Jewelers enough. They are all very knowledgeable and passionate about their craft.

If my fiancée and I could give them 6 out of 5 stars we would! Niki and Joe were there to help with the whole process of looking at rings, helping me purchase the ring within my budget and making pick up super convenient and easy. Some of their suggestions helped make the engagement ring one of a kind. Then when one of the gems popped out of the band, they were right on top of contacting the manufacturer and getting the ring repaired. Just an overall great experience! Would highly recommend!
